YapText Terms of Service

YapText is developed and operated by ZPresso LLC. Last updated: May 12, 2026 (Effective May 12, 2026). ZPresso's company-wide Terms of Use and Privacy Policy also apply.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and ZPresso LLC ("YapText", "we", "us", "our") governing your use of the YapText voice-to-text application (the "App") and any related services.

By downloading, installing, or using YapText, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. The Service

YapText is a voice-to-text application that lets you dictate speech, receive a text transcription, and optionally rewrite that text in different tones. The App is provided "as is", and features may evolve over time.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the European Economic Area, or the minimum age required in your country) to use YapText. By using the App, you confirm you meet this requirement.

3. Subscriptions, Free Trial, and Billing

Free Trial

New subscribers may receive a 3-day free trial. Your selected subscription begins after the trial period ends. You can cancel anytime during the trial to avoid being charged.

Subscription Plans

YapText offers the following auto-renewing subscriptions:

  • Monthly Plan — billed every 1 month at the price displayed in the App at the time of purchase.
  • Yearly Plan — billed every 12 months at the price displayed in the App at the time of purchase.

Prices may vary by country and are shown in your local currency at checkout.

How Auto-Renewal Works

  • Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Your subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period at the price disclosed at the time of purchase or as adjusted in compliance with Apple's policies.
  • You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal by going to your Apple ID account settings after purchase.

Cancellation and Refunds

You can cancel auto-renewal anytime in your Apple ID subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep access until then.

Refund requests are handled by Apple, not by us. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. We are not able to issue refunds for App Store purchases.

Free Trial Caveat

If you have previously used a free trial of YapText (under the same Apple ID or subscription group), you may not be eligible for another free trial. Eligibility is determined by Apple.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use YapText for any unlawful purpose, or to transcribe content you do not have the right to record.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App.
  • Use automated tools, scripts, or bots to access the service.
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute YapText or its outputs as a standalone service.
  • Submit content that is abusive, harassing, threatening, hateful, or sexually exploitative.
  • Use the service in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our servers.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for users who violate these Terms.

5. Your Content

The audio you record and the text it produces ("Your Content") belong to you. We claim no ownership over Your Content.

We process Your Content only to deliver the service. We do not retain it, train on it, or share it. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

6. Our Intellectual Property

The YapText name, logo, app design, software, and related materials are owned by ZPresso LLC and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. These Terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for its intended purpose — they do not transfer any ownership.

7. Third-Party Services

YapText uses third-party artificial intelligence services to perform transcription and text polishing. Your audio and text are transmitted to these services only to fulfill your immediate request, and are not retained by them under our integration terms.

The App is distributed and billed through Apple's App Store, which is governed by Apple's own terms.

8. Service Availability

We strive to keep YapText available 24/7, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The App may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control. We are not liable for any losses caused by service interruption.

9. Disclaimers

YapText is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. We disclaim all warranties including, but not limited to:

  • Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
  • That the transcription or text output will be accurate, error-free, or suitable for your specific use.
  • That the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or free from bugs.

Transcription and AI text generation are not perfect. You are responsible for reviewing the output before relying on it in any important context (legal, medical, financial, or otherwise).

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ZPresso LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to loss of profits, data, business opportunity, or reputation — arising from your use of YapText.

Our total liability to you for any claim related to the App will not exceed the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify ZPresso LLC against any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the App or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

You may stop using YapText at any time by deleting the App and canceling your subscription. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you violate these Terms, with or without notice. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, governing law) will survive.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced through the App or our website. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates and the regulations of the Sharjah Media City Free Zone Authority (Shams), under which ZPresso LLC is licensed, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the competent courts of Sharjah, UAE, unless mandatory local consumer protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise.

15. Apple-Specific Terms

You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and ZPresso LLC only — not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Apple's standard End User License Agreement, Apple's terms apply to the App distribution; ours apply to the service.

Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and has the right to enforce them against you.
