YapText Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how ZPresso LLC ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use YapText (the "App") — a voice-to-text application available on the Apple App Store.

We have built YapText with privacy as a design principle: we do not store your voice recordings, we do not store the text you produce, and we do not sell or share your data with advertisers.

1. Information We Process

YapText processes the following types of information transiently — meaning the data passes through our systems to fulfill your request and is not retained:

Voice Recordings

When you tap the microphone, your device records audio locally. That audio is sent to our processing servers solely to convert it to text. The audio is processed in memory and immediately discarded after transcription. We do not save, log, or store the audio.

Transcribed and Polished Text

The text generated by transcription, and (if you tap a "Polish" tone) the polished version of that text, is delivered back to your device. We do not log or store this text on our servers.

Subscription Information

If you start a free trial or paid subscription, the transaction is handled by Apple through your Apple ID. We do not see your payment details (credit card numbers, Apple ID password, billing address). We receive only an anonymous subscription receipt that tells us whether you have an active subscription.

Technical Diagnostics

We may collect anonymized, aggregate technical information — such as crash reports and error counts — that does not identify you. This helps us fix bugs. You can disable crash reporting in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

Information We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or home address.
  • We do not require you to create an account.
  • We do not collect contacts, photos, calendar, location, or browsing history.
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites.
  • We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA).

2. Why We Process This Information

We process audio and text only to deliver the service you requested — converting your speech into text and polishing it on demand. That is the sole purpose. We do not analyze your content, build profiles, train models on it, or repurpose it for any other use.

3. How We Process It

Audio and text are sent over an encrypted (HTTPS / TLS) connection to our processing servers. The processing servers use third-party artificial intelligence services to convert audio to text and to refine text. Those third-party services receive only the audio or text required to perform their function, process it in real time, and do not retain it under our integration terms.

We do not save, log, archive, train on, or share your audio or text with any party for any purpose other than delivering the immediate result to you.

4. Subscriptions, Billing, and Refunds

YapText offers an auto-renewing subscription with a 3-day free trial. Subscriptions are processed by Apple through your Apple ID. Specific pricing, billing cycles, and refund policies are governed by the YapText Terms of Service and Apple's standard subscription terms.

We do not store your payment method. All billing is handled inside the App Store.

5. Children

YapText is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

6. International Users

YapText is operated from the United Arab Emirates. Our processing servers may be located in the United States or other regions. By using YapText, you understand that any information sent for transcription or polishing is transmitted across international borders for processing — and is not retained after processing.

Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), UK GDPR, California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), or other privacy laws apply to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal information. Because we do not retain voice or text content, there is typically nothing for us to provide or delete on those subjects. For any other request, contact us using the information below.

7. Security

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS 1.2+) for all data in transit between your device, our servers, and our processing partners. Because we do not retain your audio or text, there is no historical database that could be breached or leaked.

No system is perfectly secure, however. If we ever become aware of a security incident that may affect users, we will notify affected users and applicable authorities as required by law.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice through the App or our website. Your continued use of YapText after an update means you accept the revised policy.
